About Phoenicia Mediterranean Foods

Our Story

Saada, our family matriarch, has always been known for her delicious cooking among family and friends. When she came to the United States in 2013, to join her husband and 3 sons, she struggled to find the right ingredients to continue making her favorite dishes. We searched, but the products were too far away, too expensive, or just not fresh enough.

Our family comes from the Bekka region of Lebanon – a land rich in history and tradition, and well-known for delicious, yet simple dishes made from fresh ingredients, unchanged for centuries. After many years of missing the flavors of our homeland, our family decided to open Phoenicia Mediterranean Foods in Weymouth, MA in 2020.

In the midst of the pandemic, we took a risk and were delighted to see fans among our customers from all backgrounds! We noticed that so many people loved our selection, and many, especially those new to Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cooking, would ask how to use the ingredients, and wish that they could try the foods we described.

So, we took another leap of faith and added a deli to the back of the store in 2021, the same year that Saada became a grandmother to two!

Phoenicia Mediterranean Foods is a small, but lovingly and professionally run kitchen with a team of Lebanese moms – infusing our dishes with the same love and care as they do when serving their own families!

Our family recipes have been passed down for generations and are now humbly offered to your table.  All dishes are made from scratch in our deli kitchen! From the dough in our manoushe (flatbread pizza) to each grape leaf, rolled by hand, we never take shortcuts, and our customers can taste the difference.

We are grateful for the community we’ve built together, and look forward to many more years serving the South Shore and beyond!
